ABERDEEN SAUSAGE
From 1922:
Take one lb. lean steak, ½ lb. fat bacon, one cupful breadcrumbs, one teaspoonful salt, ¼ teaspoonful pepper, one tablespoonful each tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce, one egg. Have a saucepan of boiling water in readiness. Cut the meat and bacon up finely, add the breadcrumbs, salt and pepper. Beat the egg, add the sauces, and mix with other ingredients. Press into a long roll like a sausage, and tie up in a floured cloth. Boil for two hours, then remove on to dried breadcrumbs. Serve cold, sliced thinly.
