Beef Loaf
Take one and a half pounds of round steak, two slices of salt pork, one small onion, one egg, half a cup of milk or stock, and three-fourth of a cup of bread crumbs. Run the steak through the meat chopper, or chop it fine, fry the pork crisp, then chop it; mix all the ingredients and bake in a deep, well-buttered pan for three-quarters of an hour. It is done when it leaves the sides of the pan. Nice for a lunch, for sandwich filling, or for tea.
