Bobote
From 1922:
Soak a slice of bread in as much fresh milk as it will take. Slice an onion and fry in a little butter. Mix breadcrumbs and onions with 2 lb. minced beef or mutton, 1 tablespoonful curry powder and the juice of 1 lemon. Beat up 2 or 3 eggs with a little milk. Put the mixture, seasoned with a little pepper and salt, into a pie dish and then pour over milk and eggs and bake.
