Maple Marguerites
One cup maple sirup, 3 eggs, 2 tablespoons butter, 3 ½ cups flour, ½ teaspoon salt, 2 teaspoons baking powder, ¼ teaspoon soda, ½ cup chopped nuts.
Beat yolks of eggs till thick and lemon colored. Beat in sirup and butter softened, but not melted. Mix and sift flour, baking powder, salt and soda. Stir into first mixture.
Beat whites of eggs till stiff and dry and fold into dough. Add nuts and drop from a teaspoon onto a greased and floured baking sheet. Bake 12 minutes in a hot oven.
