Maude S. Cake
Make custard first of 8 tablespoons grated chocolate, 5 tablespoons granulated sugar and ½ cup sweet milk.
Cook until it thickens, then let cool.
Take ½ cup butter, 1 ½ cups granulated sugar, stir well; 3 eggs, dropped in one at a time, beat thoroughly. Take ½ cup flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, then pour in the custard and stir again, then add to all 1 ½ cups flour and ½ cup of milk; flavor with vanilla, bake in three layers and spread boiled white frosting between.
