SWEET SOUP
From 1913:
One cupful sago, two quarts water, three sticks cinnamon bark, one cupful prunes, one cupful raisins. Boil slowly for one hour and thirty minutes, then add two cupfuls brown sugar and one half cupful vinegar. Lemon juice may be substituted for the vinegar if preferred.
This is a traditional Danish recipe.
