Tomato Chutney
2 lb. tomatoes, 2 lb. sour apples, 1 lb. onions, ½ lb. brown sugar, 2 oz. garlic, 2 teaspoonfuls salt, half-teaspoonful cayenne pepper. Peel, core, and quarter the apples; peel and slice the tomatoes.
Put all the ingredients into a stewpan, cover with sugar, and cook gently for five hours.
